as a tiny human embryo. We carried the entire genetic heritage of our
ancestors -- and we had a lifetime of possibilities before us.
But now, some biotechnology corporations are working on a nightmare
project. Using cloning techniques already used on animals, they plan
to mass produce human embryos, then kill them in experimentation.
They plan to start human embryo farms.
In Washington, the House of Representatives has passed a bill to
ban the cloning of human embryos. President Bush has urged the Senate
to pass the same bill.
Senator Orrin Hatch has said he is undecided. His decision may
determine whether human embryo farms open for business.
